Triggers¬† is an original acrylic painting on board by¬† Debra Keirce.¬† The original acrylic painting on board measures 2 1/2″¬† x 4″ with the¬† frame measuring¬† 6″ high x¬† 7 1/2″ wide.¬† Artist note: ” This little painting was conceived in a museum when I saw these historic guns in a case, and the light was shining in a way that lit up their triggers. It was a moment when I stopped to enjoy the metaphor. We all have triggers, right? Some result in great experiences like when I hear the lullaby I used to sing to my kids, and a slew of wonderful memories surface. Others are not so good, like when I smell a cake baking, and go home to eat 4 or 5 Lindor Truffles!
It’s not the trigger that causes the experience, good or bad. But what a dangerous game we play in life. There are triggers everywhere. It’s a game of Russian Roulette, because we never know which trigger to pull or what the consequences will be. But there they are, all sunlit, crying out “Pull Me!”
